Upcycling – From Trash to Treasure
web-japan.org
About 92 million tons of clothing are discarded worldwide each year, and solutions are urgently required. Revitalizing discarded clothing with new designs, known as upcycling, is one approach, although it's not a completely new idea. For about 400 years, people in Japan's Tohoku region have been reusing old garments like this in the traditional craft of sakiori. Today, some modern sakiori workshops even collaborate with famous brands. This approach is also being promoted in Tokyo with fashion shows featuring upcycled clothes and events teaching people how to remodel old clothes for dress-up dolls.

I watched a documentary about Aoi. She was raised by a single mother, so dispite the finacial problem, her mother bought this horse for her daughter because Aoi really loves Yabusame and the horse. She and the horse are like sisters. The horse senses AOi what she wants so that the horse adjusts the speed, course and distance to makes sure she can hit the target. Such a amazing conbination!!

2:44 Sorry, but the only thing this part shows is that this product is an inferior fire fighting foam. The durability of the foam bubbles has absolutely no bearing on the environmental impact of any given foaming agent. If I mixed cadmium salts into that soap solution, the foam would vanish just as quickly but be incredibly harmful to the environment. Foam should remain stable for as long as possible to prevent reignition and provide continuous shielding of blanketed surfaces against heat radiation. What do you think is more problematic: A foaming agent that is slightly more harmful to the environment but that, once applied, will remain on a surface for three hours or a foaming agent that is slightly less harmful, but has to be reapplied every five minutes, thereby in much larger overall quantities? This is just nonsensical.
